I never get tired of exploring my own surroundings because something new is always popping up. I am kind of embarrassed to say this … but until recently, I have never even heard of Union Market – and here I am now, loving it and giving you all the details!

Know Before You Go:

The market is a very sizable building with wide open space and vendors spread out among the floor. You are free to walk around to as many places as you would like or just grab a coffee and have a seat at one of the tables. It kind of has that indoor farmers market vibe but an upscale version with fun shops and gourmet food.

Neat space

Inside the market there is a variety of vendors selling items and food/beverages. I tasted several food items during my visits and everything was so delicious! Its kind of like the market ONLY has amazing food – which can make narrowing down what you want hard, but I say try a few things and decide.

Cotton & Reed:
Directly across the street from the market – Washington’s first rum distillery! I recently did a tasting and a small tour and let me just say – this is a place I could spend an afternoon sipping pina coladas or spiced rum.

Street Art:
Walking around the Union Market area you will find street art from different artists. It is popular for people to take photos of it, with it or with food in front of it. No shame – so get on in there.

BUT that’s not all – the Union Market area has its very own Michelin Star restaurant, Masseria! I have not dined there yet – but it is on my list to get to and I will let you know how it goes as soon as I eat there.
Until next time.
XOXO – Nicki
